Sri- La-Sri Kasivasi Swaminatha Swamigal Arts College was established in 1945 by Sri Kasi Mutt, Thiruppanandal. Sri Kumaraguruparar Swamigal, who came to be first known to the world as large as a born-poet and highly graced by the divinity, founded the Kasi Mutt. His followers were doing the service for the spiritual glorification of both Saivam and Tamil. Sri Swaminatha Swamigal, 19th Head of Sri Kasi Mutt made effective endowments in Madras University. Sri Arulnandhi Thambiran Swamigal the 20th Head created 533 endowments through establishing a senthamizh college for Tamil in Thiruppanandal. Sri-La-Sri Muthukumaraswamy Thambiran Swamigal, the present Head of Sri Kasi Mutt, expanded the college with arts and science subjects by allocating a huge fund to meet out the needs of present circumstances. The present patron, a philanthropist and great religious preacher, fights for the rights of Saiva Sidhandham. Under the patronisation of His Holiness, the college has grown with 9 UG Programes, 5 PG Programmes and research programmes in Tamil and Commerce.
