Santhigiri Siddha Medical College has been established by SANTHIGIRI ASHRAM imbibing the vision of it's Founder Guru, NAVAJYOTHISREE KARUNAKARA GURU.This college is the first ever Siddha Medical College in this State. At present there are only five Siddha Medical Colleges other than this college in our country having Siddha graduate course. All those five colleges - two in Government sector and three in Private sector- are in Tamil Nadu. As these colleges are having Tamil Language as the medium of instruction, only students who have studied Tamil as an elective subject can join this course. Therefore this system could not receive proper exposure outside Tamil Nadu. In this scenario, Santhigiri came forward to universalize Siddha education by adopting the medium of instruction as the universal language
