Vinayaka Mission’s Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital (VMHMCH), Salem, a constituent college of Vinayaka Missions University was established in the year 1988 for imparting homoeopathic education including clinical training and offering the BHMS degree course. In the year 2002, the Central Council of Homoeopathy, New Delhi granted permission to start the M.D.(Hom) course in all the seven specialities (Practice of Medicine, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Materia Medica, Organon & Homoeopathic Philosophy, Repertory and Homoeopathic Pharmacy) appreciating the high level of academic standards and excellent infrastructural facilities in the college. The management has provided the college with the best infrastructural facilities and most qualified and well experienced teachers and non–teaching staff members. The college commands a great respect and reputation among the public and homoeopathic professionals in Tamil Nadu and other parts of India, also abroad. The BHMS and M.D.(Hom) degrees awarded by Vinayaka Missions University is permanently recognized by the Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India and are included in the second schedule of the Homoeopathy Central Council Act. Our college became a partner institution of IGNOU in 2009 under the “convergence scheme”. The students and doctors from UK and Canada have attended extended clinical training programmes in the college.
