About SJMV BAJSS Arts and Commerce College for Women :
The College is run by SJM Vidya Peetha Chitradurg (Regd).Established in July 1979 the college is
devoted to disseminating knowledge to the women folk of rural areas since 30 years. It provides
under graduate education in Arts and Commerce programme. The College has its own Spacious and
Splendid building in the core of the city . The Campus has an area of 1.25 acres in which a well
equipped library,computer lab , play ground and garden are housed . There are 19 permanent teaching
and 10 non-teaching staff . The average number of learners every year is 500.
It is an aided institution receiving salary grant from Karnataka state government. It is included under
2(f) and 12 B of UGC Act. It is accredited at B+ level by NAAC in February 2005.
Formerly the college was affiliated to karnatak University Dharwad until 2006. And since the inception of
karnatak state women’s University Bijapur, the college has got permanent affiliation from Women’s
University.
