Prakash College of Education was established in June 1961. Before this, there was a dearth of B.Ed. colleges in Gujarat state. There were three to four colleges in Gujarat which provided the teacher education at that time.Prakash College of Education has as its objective preparing teachers who are capable of abolishing darkness and evolving light of knowledge. Such teachers should be well aware of local needs of the society. Such teachers should be capable of and committed to the task of creating leadership in various walks of life. The institution is dedicated to the tasks of preparing such hands of teachers. The institution has always strived to prepare quality teachers capable of quality education. The institution has achieved good results by smart and sincere work.
